Saratoga sightseeing

Some yewts decided to check out some homes late at night this week in the area of Saratoga and Suffolk in Northeast Jackson.  They were seen going through back yards and casing homes. Security cameras provided the following photo and video.  Keep an eye out for these guys.

I know the woman whose house they were casing and to be completely honest, I would never live alone as a female in Jackson. I currently live in Jackson with my family but I cannot say we will be staying after another 5 years. People keep telling me that there is crime everywhere but let's be honest, it is much more a threat in NE Jackson compared to Madison and Brandon. I do want Jackson to improve because it only betters all the surrounding communities but I really just do not see much improvement...at least not enough to justify staying here with high ppty/car taxes, crazy water bills, horrible streets, threat of crime, etc.

Really? Just because they are black? If residents "keep an eye out", they must be racists. They should not follow them. What if they follow them and then the young kids attack the resident and the resident has to defend himself. Then we have an a Zimmerman type murder.

Anonymous said...

This is why my children are taught to avoid people that look like this.

Anonymous said...

We used to live about a block from where this happened.
We now live in Madison and sleep much better at night.

The minute he planted his foot over the fence, shoot him or call the police .

While 8:42 would avoid these black children because of how they look - and ultimately their skin color, their children are probably encouraged to be friends with people like the white kids who broke into cars in Clinton, or who attempted the burglary in Byram yesterday because after all, they are white. Typical.

@8:59

Correct. While there's a chance of criminal behavior with any segment (we avoid trailer trash as well), Statistics are very much on my side. Sorry.

The house in which they live was probably occupied by a family who sold at a lower price just to get out of Jackson. You can't sit in the suburbs and criticize the problem you helped create. Folks who flee at the first sight of trouble will just do it again. If I lived in Madison, I would not want to be neighbors with former Jacksonians.

All Jackson residents.
Go to Harbor Freight and buy several driveway alert system ($14.99).
Position them around the perimeter of your home.

I used to live in Madison but moved about a block from where this took place. Other than Eastover, there is not a better place to live in the metro. I sleep fine at night knowing my neighbors watch out for each other.

Let's start sending these types of post to the Jackson police, Mayor, & all the members of the city council. Maybe shamming the city govt. will get them to do a better job.

Good post 8:22 AM high property/car taxes, crazy water bills, horrible streets, threat of crime, Yazoo clay, etc. Sell a house in Jackson is what's keeping a mass exodus from occurring.

Anonymous said...

Pretty sure the purpose of this post wast to warn residents to look out for these individuals. Not sure what it is about a post that serves as a public service that attracts people to bash Jackson. Sounds like suburban insecurity.

I also used to live not too far from here - less than a mile. Every neighbor I knew and friends in the Briarwood/Heatherwood area had their outdoor storage broken into. When my storage was broken into JPD promptly took my report, but never heard back.

Jackson is in worse shape than its ever been. I told myself for years it would get better. It only got worse, especially in this area of NEJ. My theory is when Fondren got so hip in the early to mid 2000s, this part of NEJ began to downhill. It was relatively safe in 80s and 90s.

When we grew out of our home, we evaluated our options. Ultimately, we moved to Madison county. I work in Ridgeland so the drive is the same for me. I rarely go back into the city limits, but when I do I notice how terrible the road conditions are now. Going down Adkins is entertaining to say the least with cars running into oncoming traffic to miss potholes.

9:37: We do and they've done a damn good job. Also, the house down the street from me sold in 4 days to, get this, a family from Madison. STFU.

Anonymous said...

"Really? Just because they are black?"

No, because they are in someone else's backyard in the middle of the night.

Anonymous said...

30-06 would cure the problem, or a 12 gauge shot gun with double 0 buck. Take 1 or 2 down, the others will think twice about coming back!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Nice try 8:40 - it's called trespassing no matter what color/ethnicity you are.

Tell 'ya what -- we'll tell these fellas that your property is good to go (just add it to another post) and they can come visit while you and your children are sleeping.

Anonymous said...

99:37, Do you really think you can do anything to shame the Jackson city govt.? Watch a clip of the city council or any Jackson elected official in action. What could you possibly do to shame them any more than they do themselves?

Anonymous said...

9:12am wins post of the day...but be careful. Don't confuse liberals with facts and common sense. They tend to break windows and burn shit when met with reality. Of course, they would retort, "What facts?" I feel very confident that the statistics would back you up.

So why didn't you confront these hood rats at 3am last night? What a moron.

Anonymous said...

Everyone looks out for everyone while they are sound asleep in NE Jackson....yeah right.

Black, white, Cuban, or Asian(thanks Will Smith), you come on to my property at night unannounced and uninvited, you should be handled. It's not a race thing, or anything else, its a private property rights thing. I wouldn't dare go around to my neighbors driveway(who I know well) uninvited, much less after dark, and even more so late at night/early morning. They weren't looking for their lost toy, they were up to something plain and simple. Quit trying to spin it as racial people. My dad taught me better. I'm almost certain that is part of the problem in this instance.

HaHa at 9:57

Those were renters from Madison. Of course they can BUY (maybe two or three)in Jxn for lots less than they can rent one in Madison... no brainer to them.

Anonymous said...

Agree, 11:48. These folks are up to no good. They are certainly not guests in any sense of the word. This does not have anything to do with race. Walking around after midnight is a sign they were casing the neighborhood.

Anonymous said...

Only way a house is selling in 4 days in NEJ is if it's a fire sale.

It took me close to a year to sell my house in Heatherwood after multiple price drops. It lost 30% of its value in 7 years.

"Also, the house down the street from me sold in 4 days to, get this, a family from Madison."

Enjoy your new neighbors in their Oxford House.

12:20 pm Sorry but you have no taste and didn't take good care of it.

The houses in my neighborhood all sold quickly to doctors who have to work at the hospitals and who tired of the hour added to their already long days.

Anonymous said...

Not renters, 12:57.

My Heatherwood home's value has increased 15% in the last 3 years. So sorry some of you got out at the wrong time. Anyway, you should complain some more online since it must make you feel better. Enjoy your cow pastures.

Just a little hint for you people who own homes in Jackson. What you think your house is worth and what it would sell for can be quite a bit different. You may enjoy living in a cesspool. It takes quite a bit of hunting to find another family that feels the same way about crap and usually they do not have a lot of cash.

Anonymous said...

Home in NE Jackson, Heatherwood at that, increasing 15% in value? Hahahahaha. Maybe in the actual replacement cost to rebuild it materials wise, but no, not value. We're talking what you could sell it for, not what it's insured for.

Anonymous said...

The suburban posturing is entertaining and all, but what TF does it have to do with the original post? Are you people that insecure about where you live?

Anonymous said...

2:36, Did you sell your home for a 15% increase over the last 3 year? If not how do you know what is worth? I sold a home in Ridgeland 2 years ago for $75k less than it was "valued"after it had been on market for over a year.It is in a very upscale area and gated.

Anonymous said...

... ...... ....who's 12:57?

Anonymous said...

TO 3:08---The cesspool sometimes overflows and can make a mess everywhere---you better get ready---It's coming your way.

Anonymous said...

FYI to those who think it matters what the skin color is of someone casing your home to rob you - the homeowner's original neighborhood post showed photos from her personal security camera, in which the people in question appeared to be white, and they were described as white. When additional neighborhood footage became available, it was apparent that they were black. The homeowner and neighbors do not care what color they are. They simply do not want strangers who are up to no good on their premises.

Anonymous said...

10:22 I agree with you 100%! The problem would go away pretty quickly using those tactics. Only 1 BIG problem: at the end of the day, WE would be tried by a jury of THEIR peers.......that'll really make you think twice. And I'm betting they know it.

Anonymous said...

I sold my home in NE Jacktown 3+ years ago. Got 30% less than I would have probably gotten 10-15 years ago and definitely 30% less than what I valued this house for.

I had lived there since 1979 when I built the home. My neighborhood went from a very nice neighborhood to a ghetto seemingly overnight. Why I moved to Ridgeland.

I'll take the extra 5 - 10 minute drive vs living in a ghetto.

Oh...I grew up on Saratoga and have seen that area drastically change also.

Anonymous said...

@5:30

And one day I. The very near future you will wake up and realize ridgeland has turned to ghetto as well. Ridgeland had declined as quickly as Jackson, if not faster.

Anonymous said...

Suspend all of them for one game. That will teach them a good lesson.

They need to upgrade their security cameras to at least 3 megapixel, but better at 4MP. Also, there is washout from the infrared against the tree that should be addressed. If they had better video, IDing these people would be a lot easier. I recommend no matter where you live, to have cameras outside of a decent quality. I like the 4MP Hikvison cameras. Super easy to install and you can view them from an iPhone.

9:26 is of the same group of harpies who will always post on this blog about how safe it is living in Jackson. Does that poster really believe anybody will read that crap and agree with it or suddenly abandon what they know to be the truth?

Here is the typical bullshit post: "I used to live in Madison in a cookie-cutter house (oh yeah, where?) and moved to Jackson (either Fondren, Belhaven or behind the Krystal on North State) and I feel completely safe where I am and plan to stay and work here and have children here and shop here and hang out in the park here and eat downtown and post bullshit from somewhere pretending I live here."

Anonymous said...

I'm not a harpy. I'm a redneck who lives out in the country and work with some ladies who live and around Jackson.

I laugh at the scared little posters who always talk about how bad Jackson is crime-wise. One of the women I work with always talks about not going into Jackson for anything because she will be robbed.

What is the rate in Jackson? What are your chances if you are a white female, of getting robbed? I don't see it on the news and the crime reports don't seem as bad as 6:57s would have one to believe.

I have cameras on my property out in the country. I have had equipment and a trailer stolen. We had a run of home invasions a few years back. We formed a little "neighborhood" association and agreed that if we drove by each other's place and saw something funky, we would stop, call or otherwise do something about it.

The reason why I laugh at these bedroom community liberals is that they think proximity is their way to avoid being a victim. They think their fear can stop at a city limits line. Situational awareness, preparedness and options to defend are what's needed whether you are in Jackson or in the sticks.

I drive my little kids through the slums of Jackson showing them where I used to ride my bikes when I was younger. There is a big difference between random violence associated with urban areas and the organized war that many posters here seem to want everyone to believe, in order to justify their McMansions

Which neighborhoods?

Why not get your bikes out and go peddling those same streets? Bet you and the kids would enjoy it.

Anonymous said...

Which neighborhoods @8:33 AM. Put up.

Anonymous said...

Ok, I gotta ask. Dude says he drove through the slums in Jackson and there are 2 or 3 posts asking "which neighborhoods."

Why is naming the neighborhoods important? With a few exceptions, most everywhere in Jackson is slums

Anonymous said...

Which neighborhoods are the exceptions?

Anonymous said...

Really not any exceptions. Some areas are gated to keep the other citizens of Jackson from entering. People have to come out of the fences every once in a while. They still have to drive on the gravel streets, use the same water, and depend on the same useless cops.

Which neighborhoods June 4, 2016 at 8:53 AM, by name, are the exceptions?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
