Oops.

Someone in the College Republicans apparently got stupid.  The Mississippi Federation of College Republicans issued this press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Nicki Reeder, MFCR Director of Public Relations
Email: mscollegerepublicans@gmail.com

MFCR NON-ENDORSEMENT POLICY, IMPEACHMENT CHARGES PRESSED

The Chris McDaniel for United States Senate campaign has released an automated phone
call to many Mississippians. In the call, Kolby Busby a student at Jones County Junior
College introduced himself as the Executive Director of the Mississippi Federation of
College Republicans (MFCR) and endorsed Chris McDaniel.

Busby made this endorsement upon his own accord. The MFCR had no knowledge of the
recording until after it was released. The MFCR has not and will not endorse any
candidate in any Republican primary. As an official auxiliary member of the Mississippi
Republican Party and a member of the College Republican National Committee it is part
of our policy not to endorse candidates in a primary election.

On May 31, 2014 the Executive Board of the MFCR held a meeting via conference call
and decided to move forward with the impeachment process to remove Busby from
office. The MFCR Executive Board has voted unanimously to charge Busby with
negligence in the performance of his constitutional duties. Busby will have the
opportunity to present a defense at the next MFCR Executive Board meeting on June 28,
2014 when the impeachment hearing will take place at the MSGOP headquarters.

Evan Alvarez
MFCR Chairman

Perhaps he considered the Tea Party an independent/separate entity. Like McDaniel, they do seem to separate themselves.

Par for the course with these people. Get ready for more of the same if CM miraculously wins. Just make up endorsements, make up polls, make up whatever gets the reddest of the rednecks stoked up

Now that the falsehood about political robocalls on Sunday has been debunked, this is the sole remaining highlight of the Cochran campaign today.

Chris is being accused of making up endorsements? Link us to the made up endorsements?

I will come back to see the proof Monday.

Brewster is at it again

Harry Reid is endorsing Cochran but Thad's handlers apparently have enough sense to not run with that. Or maybe they're waiting to release that on Monday.

YO! Kay Webber! why are you hiding? All we want to know is how much you charge for a basement apartment.

11:28 pm I got the robocall from Busby.

My call screen read " MS Federation of College Republicans"

Do you think a college kid set up those robocalls for all of Mississippi on his own?

I suspect the kid needed money.

KF, if you have contacts in other states where The Tea Party ran against Republicans, I think these sorts of tactics become clear.

So, this morning on television, I'm bombarded with the repetitively ubiquitous Cackrun ad claiming "Chris McDaniel is a personal injury trial lawyer".

OK; At least the man is representing somebody ~ As opposed to a forty-plus year career politician who has totally forgotten who his constituents are.

And don't forget that Cackrun's ads claim his most recent representation of Mississippians was his Katrina aid vote 8.5 years ago.

7:05 a.m. hit the nail on the head. This is SOP for tea party nuts. Make up rigged polls and send out robo calls and claim you had nothing to do with it. Just like sending thugs into a nursing home and claiming not to know anything about it. Frankly, Chris is a good guy, but its all these people that have attached themselves to him that scare me. The word "dirty" comes to mind.

I got the call, but I hung up before I got the details. This is one bunch of annoying folks. Can't wait for them to go away.

Anonymous said...

Too bad our elected governor et al don't realize they are not supposed to endorse candidates as well.

Anonymous said...

I also received the Robo call from the College Republicans. Better yet I got one last night from the Madison County Republican women slamming David Overby.

Anonymous said...

I got the one slamming Overby too. It did convince me who to vote for...Overby. Lott may be the second coming of Tim Johnson.

I didn't get the call, but did the kid say that his group was endorsing McDaniel or did he say that he was? The rules say that the organization isn't supposed to endorse one Republican over another but the individuals within the organization are free to do as they wish as long as they make it clear it's an individual endorsement and not from the organization. Republican party county executive committee members have done this left and right, along with the state committee members, and it's fine. If he represented that his group was endorsing McDaniel then he should be removed, but otherwise it's not really against any rule.

Stick to the topic.

I got the call. Caller ID was 'Out of area'. It was clearly a personal endorsement.

What is telling is how hard Cochran's proxies were/are pushing the inquisition, er, firing squad, er, "impeachment".

They strangley think it will help Cochran with the voters to let everyone know that the GOPers are going to kick the kid out of the club's special tree house.

It really is a shame this kid doesn't appreciate all Thad Cochran has done while in Washington. I got the robo call and he not only endorsed McDaniel, but attacked Cochran and that upset me greatly. I think the rest of the College Republicans are making a great decision getting rid of this guy, we don't need an idiot who can't read the rules to be a leader in a Mississippi GOP Organization!

In other words, don't talk about paying advertisers.....?

The guy up the thread said it best. If this clown wins, this will be the new normal. This is how about 25-30% of these people roll. Nothing is to low, nothing is off limits. In a lot of ways, McDaniel is worse than these other nutjobs that have lost all over the country. He actually try's to come across as normal. And Scott Brewster, please quit commenting and go sell your latest bit of snake oil. How about a guy who posts one thing about Chris McDaniel and the next is signing you up for his latest pyramid scheme. I swear you cannot make this stuff up.

Old clown or new clown? We now know what the old clown delivers. At least roll the dice on the new one and, if disatisfied next election, send him home. The last thing the old clown claims he did was seven years ago with a Katrina vote. Hell, Mississippi was going to get Katrina assistance regardless.

I got the call, and all this guy sounded like was a backwoods idiot.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
