Stokes says he is tired of the "lies" about the E911 fund. (video)

District 5 Hinds County Supervisor Kenneth Stokes said he was tired of the "lies" about the E911 fund at a press conference in front of his home this morning. The Board of Supervisors erupted into a heated dispute at the last meeting when Emergency Operations Center Mark Young told the board the fund would run out of money in September. The county projected the fund would run out of money in March 2014. Mr. Stokes said he wanted "to hire someone" to study the system and make recommendations. Mr. Stokes also said he didn't owe a bus company any money and said his signature was forged. Here is the video.

Sounds like they'll be propping Doug Anderson up to grunt on cue next Monday. Then he mentions more than once refinancing bonds so I guess the Malachi gang has been over in the past few days to play Tiddlywinks with him and Lieutenant Graham.

And people wonder why Jackson can't attract industry...

Press conference in front of his home? A whole new level of laziness...

When Stokes was going around begging money from churches to pay the bus bill, did he tell them his signature was forged?

If so, that was a key fact left out early on in this sad soap opera.

You mean he doesn't live at the King Edward or the Standard Life building?

I wonder how many years of service Big Kenney thinks someone should have in county government to be deemed able to do math. Yesterday was a cool morning, was he really sweating that much that he needed to continuously wipe his face?

Does Kenny wear LaRita's hats when he cross-dresses? They are both the same size, right?

"We just need someone whose sole responsibility is dealing with numbers. You know you can start talking about graphs and charts and those kinds of things, but you need people who are experienced with working with dollars and who are experienced with trying to find a way to get government out of these kinds of situations.

The major situation is that you still owe money on a system that is outdated."

Stokes and Graham are the liars here ! They are trying so hard to keep the airways account so that the money they are getting from Stowers keep coming in. You have had three Directors to say the same thing about he 911 account and these two dummies are blatantly trying to avoid the true issue ! Dumb and dumber at its best.

There are not enough words in the english language to totally describe Stokes. But, let's look at some REAL facts, something that Stokes OVERLOOKS will never admit:

When someone picks up the phone to call 911, there may not be any help on the other line TODAY, why, because Hinds County has not paid the AT&T phone bill for several months. Now, Fisher voted to not pay At&T because there are alot of problems with what the county is being charged and he does not agree whith that. Why does Stokes vote to not pay, he says that if you won't pay Airwaves then he doesn't want to pay At&T. We owe them over $100,00.00 as of right now.

Stokes says that there is no "head" of the E-911 fund, well the Director of EOC has always been in charge of that fund. Up until the Airwaves no-bid illegal contract was given there has always been MILLIONS of dollars in surplus money in that fund. The money has always been managed and spent in the proper manner.

Just ran out of room.I will have to continue....

I heard this guy Stokes has a law degree----Is that possible and if so where did he get it----What a joke the supervisors are !!

Kenny lies during a "press conference" about lying.
And did you notice he took an awkward break during his "speech" to spit out gum? It would have been national attention had it been a drink of water.

Anonymous said...

Why would any Director at EOC put his job on the line to "LIE" about the true facts. Jimmy Lewis, Joey Perkins nor Mark Young have "LIED" about E-911 going broke. It is a fact, with figures to back it up. Sounds to me like Stokes' comments are slanderous. What would happen if they knew and didn't tell the Board?
This has all happened because of Airwaves and noone will put a stop to it. It may stop soon because there won't be anymore money to pay them because Kenneth, Robert and Anderson in their capacity as BOS has bankrupt the E-911 fund with fraudulent services from Airwaves. Why do those three work so hard to protect Airwaves?

And again, they will spent money that Hinds County does NOT have to pay one of their buddies to write a roadmap. For what? In the end the expert and the other two will manipulate it and do exactly what they want to do.

I say the same thing I always say when I read these posts regarding the HC BOS: Why is no one investigating and prosecuting this group? The corruption could not possibly be more blatant. What is stopping the AG, FBI or whoever is the appropriate investigative body from doing anything?

funny how the bus company says different!!!!!HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Last year, Louisiana Motor Coach provided us with a document that appeared to be signed by Hinds County Supervisor Kenneth Stokes. It was on Hinds County letterhead, and it was an agreement to pay $4,500 to transport students to Jackson to take part in the Martin Luther King parade. The parade took place in January. Louisiana Motorcoach still has not been paid today.

Here's what Supervisor Stokes told us back in May, when the issue first came to light.

"It was told to us we could use some county funds, then they said we could not because they were bond funds. What we have tried to do now is we asked the church community to help us try to pay for some of these busses," Stokes said.

He also showed us a check, and told us he had collected $2,000 through church donations.

Thursday morning, we asked Stokes what happened to the $2,000.

"We paid somebody else," Stokes said. "We owed several, we paid somebody else. The church community said they would do some things, the businesses said they would do some things. There's not a debt associated with Dr. King's celebration in 34 years, except for one Louisiana Coach. I didn't sign anything."

Clearly, affirmative action and tokenism is alive and well in our Ivy League.

Kenny ought to put his sweat rags on Ebay and market them as "pray for Jackson rags" like the tv preacher does. Each rag is guaranteed to get the leaves out of your drain one time....might raise some cash to help the city, or at least pay off his bus debt.

Do you have any board sups in Madison County who impersonate sworn law enforcement officers?

I just want to know what the hell is Kenneth Stokes talking about. Why did Ms. Woods not have the press conference? Kenneth keeps putting it all on her but we have no numbers. 911 funds are to be allocated per (§ 400.7 Eligible uses for grant funds.
Grant funds awarded under this part may be used only for the acquisition and deployment of hardware and software that enables the implementation and operation of Phase II E-911 services, for the acquisition and deployment of hardware and software to enable the migration to an IP-enabled emergency network, for the training in the use of such hardware and software, or for any combination of these uses, provided such uses have been identified in the State 911 Plan.)

Appendix C to Part 400—Annual Certification for E-911 Grant Recipients

(I further certify that the state will enrue that each taxing, jurisdiction in the state that received E-911 grant funds does not divery any protion of designated E-911 charges imposed by the taxing jurisdiction for any purpose other than the purposes for which such charges are designated during the time period which grant funds are available...and if diverted for any other purpose...the state will ensure that E-911 grant funds distributed to that taxing jurisdiction are returned.

Seems Board of Supervisors have their own law and rules.

The press conference was a ruse to set up the vote he and Graham are staging to game the system and process. He speaks on KF's video in terms and tenses sufficient to see that the game plan is already a done deal.

burst out laughing htis morning when watching one of the news channels. They were coving this and one of the other supervisors just came right out and said it---Kenny's got a friend who needs a job.

We are likewise tired of all the lies, Kenny. Please.stop.now.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
