Cutter: Libya is all Romney's fault.

You read the headline correctly. Obama campaign spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said the only reason Libya was an issue was because of Romney:

STEPHANIE CUTTER: In terms of the politicization of this — you know, we are here at a debate, and I hope we get to talk about the debate — but the entire reason this has become the political topic it is, is because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. It’s a big part of their stump speech. And it’s reckless and irresponsible what they’re doing.

BROOKE BALDWIN: But, Stephanie, this is national security. As we witnessed this revolution last year, we covered it–

CUTTER: It is absolutely national security–

BALDWIN: –it is absolutely pertinent. People in the American public absolutely have a right to get answers.

Romney had something to say about that:

MITT ROMNEY: I think today we got another indication of how President Obama and his campaign fail to grasp the seriousness of the challenge that we face here in America. His campaign said this today about the Benghazi terrorist attack—they said this, and I quote, “The entire reason this has become the political topic it is, is because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.” No, President Obama, it’s an issue because this is the first time in 33 years that an United States ambassador has been assassinated. Mr. President, this is an issue because we were attacked successfully by terrorists on the anniversary of 9/11. President Obama, this is an issue because Americans wonder why it was it took so long for you and your administration to admit that this was a terrorist attack. This is a very serious issue. These are very serious questions and the American people deserve serious answers and I hope they come soon.

Then Ms. Cutter doubled down:

No, Miss Cutter, it wasn't Romney who asked for security and didn't get it. It wasn't Romney who denied requests from security teams to stay in Libya. It wasn't Romney who went on every single sunday morning news show and said it was a mob outraged by a Youtube video no one ever saw. It wasn't Romney who went on David Letterman and blamed videos. It wasn't Romney who said it was an angry mob when the cameras showed there was no mob. It wasn't Romney who waited several weeks to send an FBI team to examine the consulate in Libya. It wasn't Romney who decided to go party with Jay-Z or fund-raise in Vegas while this was going down. It wasn't Romney who basically called the Libyan President a liar when he said it was a terrorist act and there was no mob. Meanwhile the NBC reporterette tried to badger him into admitting it was a mob outraged by a video to no avail. In fact, the only people pushing the angry mob that couldn't handle Youtube was the Obama administration yet its all Romney's fault.

What the Obama administration SHOULD have done was say "we don't know what happened in Libya, we are investigating and trying to find out what happened. When we do, we will take action and bring these terrorists to justice. We want to thank the Libyan government for helping us and will provide you more information as it becomes available." That's it. Nice, simple, professional.

The Obama administration for whatever reason freaked and pushed the Arab Street angle knowing it was a lie. Now they are trying to blame the intelligence community i.e. Petraeus and Panetta. Good luck with that one. There is more to come out on this story and it won't be pretty. The last thing the Obama people need during a re-election campaign is "Obama lied after his ambassador died" but he is going to get it at the rate this is going.

Hillary Clinton's chances to ever be POTUS grow longer with each passing day of this Libya debacle and coverup.

It's a fair criticism, but both campaigns have jumped the shark for anyone who has been paying attention for a while.

And they are not that different as far as what they will do. Neither will significantly address the deficit, an unfair tax code, and America's reverse imperialism.

Both campaigns jumped the shark on Libya? You are delusional. Little wonder you struggle to pay attention.

That's right 9:16, Romney hasn't been pimping out a death in Libya. BOTH have jumped whatever marine animal you want to name.

Keep believing these people work for you. The campaign donors depends on it.

Excellent post, KF. This issue goes so far beyond party affiliation and everything else.

4 Americans were brutally killed.

Obama apologized, spend $70k on a commercial over there apologizing, his administration denied help to those very Americans.

9:10, you are a damned fool if you don't understand what has happened.

So where do come down on this issue brjohn9?

9:10 is full of malarkey.

According to DonnerKay this guy killed it.

I've seen malarkey in the pasture.

Smith's mom looked at Obama and said, "You screwed up."
**The mother of State Department Official Sean Smith, who was killed in Benghazi.**

She said she wanted to know the truth. Obama, Biden and Clinton said they’s get back to her. She said the administration keeps saying "they're still studying it.”

"The things they have told me are outright lies...All of them told me it was because of a film."

Smith's mom said, "I look at TV, and I see bloody hand-prints on the walls, and I think 'My God, are those the hand-prints of my son?'"

Where the hell is Bill Clinton? Now Obama is throwing Hillary under the bus.

If you want a gibbering, snorting, mumbling clown with a rictus-grin locked on his mug a heartbeat away from controlling America's nuclear arsenal, Joe Biden's your guy.
.....
You can see the fear in the Obama campaign now, as they careen from message to message, flailing, desperate for something – anything – to stick.

You can see their gyros tumbling as they slew from Big Bird to abortion to “Mitt Romney is a lying liar lairpants McLiar” to the walking disaster that is Stephanie Cutter every time she opens her mouth to the remarkable, bizarre interview with the Three Divas (Axelrod, Plouffe and Messina, obviously) gave Mark Halperin this week. Their campaign is out of control, and they know it.

We certainly know who heads up the Joe Biden glee club in Fondren.

is cutter on crack??

Anonymous said...

Great post KF., the position cutter is trying to take is that ..1 they are investigating, 2. they will pursue the perpetrators and 3. make sure it doesnt happen again.

But, that is NOT what has been happening. the Obama admin has not taken that path.

Blame StateDept, blame intel, now blame romney ryan,

No doubt 11:27 AM that the Kenyan isn't going to let Clinton waltz to the 2016 Donkey nomination.

The Muslim Megalomaniac likely has convinced his incompetent self that he can be the first white/black Grover Cleveland.

Clinton should resign and salvage what little credibility she has remaining.

It is one thing to stand by a supposedly repentant Bill after he apologized for the WH fellatio but standing by this Obama man while he goes down is a completely different matter.

Are they gonna let the guy who made the video out of jail now?

Mississippi Interns for Journalistic Credibility said...

Will there be some tweets out of LaddCo calling Biden out for these lies?

“I was there, I voted against them,” Biden continued. “I said, no, we can’t afford that.”

Then Sen. Biden voted for the Afghanistan resolution on Sept. 14, 2001 which authorized “the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.”

And on Oct. 11, 2002, Biden voted for a resolution authorizing unilateral military action in Iraq, according to the Washington Post.

Fact Check Y'all.

Just sayin' ... we know you are a FRAUD.

Countdown to self-destruction has begun in Fondren.

Dare I say that the expression "jumped the shark" has, well, jumped the shark.

The Libya cloud has a silver lining for Obama. He'll lay it at the feet of his Secretary of State, who he has never really liked, thereby creating a very tall hill for her to climb in 2016. Truth be told, the request for additional security probably never made it to Washington, and we may never know the name of the G-11 civil servant who put it into the circular file. Stephanie Cutter is just doing her job - sacrificing herself by making inane statements to take focus off Biden's debate performance.

WHEN will Donna FRAUD Ladd walk this JFP story back?

JFP Staff Byline:
U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens died—along with another three Americans—in an attack Tuesday where thousands stormed and burned the embassy in Benghazi in response to a video ridiculing the Muslim Prophet Muhammad. Reportedly, 32 others were wounded: 14 Americans and 18 Libyans.

I don't think it's good that we have let our enemies know so much about embassy/consulate security or the lack thereof.
I don't think it's EVER good to let our enemies know we are divided when it comes to foreign issues particularly related to security of Americans overseas.
I don't think cutting foreign service security was a good budget cut.
I don't think The White House gets embassy/consulate budget requests.
So, yeah, I think this is being politicized and that the investigation, which I agree is needed, should have been done behind closed doors.
Sometimes, you don't air your dirty laundry and this is one of them.
I would remind everyone, as well, just as we didn't know that our CIA rather than Canada was involved in rescuing 6 Americans during the Iranian hostage crisis, sometimes, when it comes to foreign affairs, lying to the American people is wise.
Romney will win and we don't have to eat our young for him to do that. A mistake was likely made and it was terribly tragic, but mistakes were made in intelligence and in the State Dept. on 9/11 as well and I don't remember us blaming our President because humans are not infallible. We focused on fixing the problems.
This is insane partisanship.

Thank God Cutter is a Demonut. Is she really that dumb with all of her comments? She will be out of a job after Nov thank God!

The bottom line is Obama and his administration lied about it, plain and simple. I do agree that some things the general public just doesn't need to know. What those things are can certainly be argued. Spinning a terrorist attack as a reaction to a video was a bad call.

Blame it on Boosh! Viva la Mexhico!!!

1:48 pm...obviously you are sleep deprived. No one blamed Bush. Indeed, THAT was the point...no one blamed Bush for the terrorist attack. No one blamed FDR for Pearl Harbor either.
But, now that YOU brought him up, there were no WMDs.

ahhhhhhhhh Senior 8:09am..si...no WMD no problem no ambassador stevens no problem blame it on Boosh! Viva' la Mexhico!

It is a true shame this would not only be used politically, but that the American people would enable this use. Where is the United States I grew up in? It damn sure isn't the one I live in today.

As far as lying, the government lies all the time. Cops can lie to you to your face, so saith the US Supreme Court. Sometimes you don't need to know the truth. The terrorists get the same line of information we do. Are people really this stupid?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
