Crisler plays the race card.

Macon newspaper busted Marshand Crisler for playing the race card in recent campaign stops. Marshand Crisler ought to be ashamed of himself. I know his parents and they damn sure didn't raise him to be like this. See for yourself.

Well, I don't know his parents and I find it entirely irrelevant that KF does. Crisler has come of age sitting at the table with the likes of Harvey and Kennuff and is probably a Choke-me disciple as well. All of them know how and when to play the card. It's taught and practiced early and often in every corner of the black community. It's literally a way of life and a required tenet of the search for political office among blacks. This is not a racist statement, rather simply a fact.

I'm sure the National Guard would have kicked his ass had he attempted that while deployed or while moving up in the ranks. However, it's standard fare at the junior levels in politics, which is where he finds himself now.

Thanks for the info. I will NOT vote for Crisler as I had planned.

Kingfish said...

Notice in all of his campaign materials he never once got any former comrades in arms to vouch for him. There is a reason for that. I think the word is REMF.

Anonymous said...

Is anyone really surprised? Race is all he has to run on. Doesn't this race stuff suck? I am so sick and tired of it. It makes me want to throw my hands up and say "Phuck it. I am OUTA HERE."

Don't forget the outright falsehoods Kingfish exposed about Crisler during his run for Jackson mayor.

Crisler's shooting: What is the REST of the story?

WLBT questions Crisler shooting

What's REMF?

I would just love to know why Crisler has been on the Hinds SO payroll for years when he doesn't do anything around there. If he isn't on there right now I would be amazed because I've seen the records many time where he was getting a pay check.

Is anyone really that upset/shocked over this? Steve Simpson is doing the same thing in his campaign. Don't you think "Fight Obamacare" is is a ploy to turn white voters against Hood by tying him to a very unpopular black guy? Or putting the Rebel Flag initiative on the ballot in 2001 was a way to get whites to vote against Musgrove who was proposing a new flag? (Republicans used the Rebel Flag issue throughout the mid term elections in 2002). Putting "Personhood" on the ballot this year is a way to get out the conservative vote? C'mon guys. This goes on all the time. IT'S POLITICS!

Kingfish said...

The flag vote had its own election. I thought they should've put it on the regular ballot and saved the six million dollaras.

KF, true BUT Musgrove proposed a new flag which led to the flag vote and then Barbour wore that Rebel flag pin everywhere during the election. (Not that I liked Musgrove but the flag vote did alienate a lot of white voters) Hey, the Republicans are smart; they play the race card passively but they still play it.

Mr. Clark has a great definition of it.

Anonymous at 10:19 AM. Hit the nail on the head. And has anybody pointed out how no where on Dorsey Carson's recent campaign flyer does it mention that he is a democrat. Why you ask? For whatever reason, people in MS identify democrat with blacks, which would deter whites from voting for him. It has nothing to do with political affiliation. Crisler isn't the only one doing it. Others just managed to be a little more sophisticated in their approach.

Musgrove didn't propose a new flag, the state Supreme Court started most of that mess when they ruled the state flag wasn't official, it was a matter of "custom." Musgrove appointed a flag commission.

The legislature didn't want it voted on during a regular election because they didn't want to have to run for office while defending whatever their view of the flag was. The Legislature took up the report of the Flag Commission in early 2001 and they wanted the issue DONE as soon as possible. There were no statewide elections in 2001, just municipals, which would not have covered everyone.

So, no statewide elections in 2001 meant the referendum would have to wait until 2002 when all the US Reps had to run, plus Thad Cochran, and a number of state-district judicial seats. NONE of them wanted a flag referendum on their ballot -- none of them wanted to have to comment on the issue. And the consequences of whatever the outcome would be would become a major issue in the statewide elections of 2003, which is when Barbour was most often seen with the state flag emblem on his lapel.

That thing was never going to be part of a previously-scheduled election.

Oh, I get it. You're saying that Carson is using a sophisticated approach to get white Racists to vote for him. So in order to dupe the Racists -- who must be Republicans -- that he's a good ol' racist white guy just like them (wink, wink) Dorsey Carson doesn't tell them he's a Democrat.

Carson's playing a double reverse southern strategy on a micro-scale. WOW, that is BRILLIANT!

Mississippians never voted on the "Rebel Flag".

Shadowfax said...

The numb-nuts who stated Barbour 'wore a rebel flag' is beyond ignorant. What Barbour wore, most of the time, was a dual flag lapel pin, one US flag and one Mississippi flag. The Mississippi flag currently incorporates the Confederate Naval Jack (referred to by the ignorant as a rebel flag). If a governor or candidate for the office cannot wear a likeness of his state flag, what might he wear? Of course Bennie Thompson has always refused to post the state flag at his office door, while posting state flags is a fairly standard thing to do in the halls of congress and the senate office building.

In recognition of the paranoia of several earlier posters, might we also assume that the democrat candidate from Clarksdale threw the primary election to the mayor of Hattiesburg simply as a means of getting more blacks to ride the headstart busses to the polls in November, thereby electing a few more minorities in Mississippi?

And we haven't yet addressed the practice of democrat candidates handing out whiskey bottles in exchange for votes and whether any of those bottles have the Rebel Yell logo on them. What nonsense!

KF, I've never commented before. But when a man/woman risks their life in active military, leaving family behind to serve abroad so we can live here with no idea what it's like elsewhere, we have no right to talk them down. Thanks to Crisler and everyone else who served, we are here today. As for the race card, really? From Uncle Tom in the mayor's race and now he's using the race card? It's politics, and Crisler's on point. It's about reaching both sides - Republican and Democrat. Rural areas, the Delta, they have different voters and different needs. A speech for Flowood would have no impact in Tchula. The needs are different. It's not playing a race card - it's about realizing who and where the voters are throughout the district, and reaching them with a pertinent message for their area and their life. It's about Democrat and Republican. It's about 12 years with no representation outside Rankin County. Rural and Delta counties forgotten. Good strategy, Crisler. Sounds like a man who actually plans to work in the whole district. Imagine that.
You got my vote, Crisler.
BTW if he wanted to play a race card, he would have done that in Neshoba when Dick Hall's joke "my opponent thinks he's Obama"..hit like a lead balloon.
I hope Crisler sends Hall to the house. I drive all over the state so I'd like to see the whole district represented; the roads could sure use the attention.

I am as conservative as anyone on this site and i would vote to change our flag tommorrow back to the bonnie blue. The bonnie blue flag IS the MS State flag and truely 'represents' this state. the current flag is a protest flag that rednecks in Pearl can fly in their yard. Bonnie Blue is our history, and changing it has nothing to do with placating minority people either, though that would serve as a huge 'NOW STFU' moment.

Shadowfax- did you read the Newsweek article that described Barbour's Gov. office as having a large conferate battle flag signed by Jefferson Davis. I mean, freakin signed by J. Davis! I love Barbour, but I am pissed he had that up in his damn office for the libs to see and write about. Thats the label they were waiting for. It was after that article came out he declined to run for pres. He would be better than anyone running today, but he is still a dumbass.

Crisler isn't going to win ... and he wasn't shot in the leg.

"KF, I've never commented before. But when a man/woman risks their life in active military, leaving family behind to serve abroad so we can live here with no idea what it's like elsewhere, we have no right to talk them down. "

So, that's why former POW John McCain got elected unanimously in 2008, right?

Shame on Crisler!! does he really think people can not think for themselves. At least Dick Hall is the same commissioner to everyone in the district regardless of race.
I am so glad someone had the back bone to report these actions and show who Crisler really is. Which is why the people of Jackson did not elect him as mayor- we knew he was a great big fake!!! He will not be elected to commissioner either!!! Vote for Dick Hall- someone who has Real on the job experience and stands up to the good ole boys. speaking of the good ole boys, take a look at Crisler's finance report and you will see where he got $25,000 from one of the good ole contractor boys!!!! always follow the money!

The candidate who wins the gubernatorial race has the option of changing wallpaper, buying a new desk and putting things of his choice on his office wall. If he had a flag representing Southern heritage, that's his business and his right. Would you be happier had he had a copy of the Emancipation Proclamation which freed nobody but was simply a war measure?

That 'libs wrote articles' about his flag is the problem of libs. How long do we Southerners have to live with Southern guilt? And now YOU suggest the way to avoid the scourge of liberal writers is to hide our heritage under a bushel?

Back to Crisler, the bullshit about him pandering to various constituencies is just that...bullshit. He's a con man who would greet some with a standard, business handshake while greeting others with a fist-bump, the seven-fingered brother-shake with slide and palm slap while pretending he's color blind. The only person 'gonna be sent to da house' is Crisler.

2:41,
Military service does not make one above reproach, nor does it make one a good person. It's a good act and commendable, but does not make one person better than anyone else. There are plenty of veterans in jail because they're criminals, and there are plenty criminals serving in the forces to avoid jail.

Ignorance shines bright for all to see.

Musgrove has pumped in $3k, David Nutt $5k and Rudy Warnock $6k into the Crisler campaign. But Babs Blackmon could only spare $500.

Does Crisler still work for Hinds County? I'm just wondering if the Hatch Act might apply.

I don't know enough about Crisler to make a judgement. I do know that when Hall was odd man out of the 3 commissioners, he and Butch Brown fought like children at the commission meetings. Hall is not completely to blame for that. Butch Brown's reputation is pretty well known. His mug shot speaks for itself.

A position as a transportation commissioner in MS is a very powerful position, but it is even more powerful if you have one of the other two commissioners on your side. Odd man out loses.

BTW.. MS is the only State that has elected transportation commissioners. Most State DOTs answer to the governor, and the governor appoints commissioners. In MS, instead of the governor controlling the State DOT, we the people, get to elect the persons that control the DOT.

Crisler works for Hinds Community College.

Crisler has also never been shot in the leg.

Anonymous said...

Was/is he in a position at Hinds that oversees federal grants? Colleges and universities get numerous federal grants.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Hatch Act is not applicable for persons running for non-partisan positions. MS transportation commissioner is partisan.

I once shot myself in the ass while trying to hide my drug staff in a raid all the while playing the race card to the occifers...can I have your vote?

Shadowfax said...

We seem to have overlooked the fact that Madison County's own, Rudy WarKNOCK (posted above), donated to Crisler's campaign. This is a dangerous thought.

To the Hatch Act comments: He doesn't have to be in a position of OVERSIGHT of federal grants. If he's in a position funded by a federal grant, even partially, or working in a program associated with federal oversight or funding in any manner, the Hatch Act is applicable.

The other poster is right that Hatch does not apply to running for office unless the position is (so called) partisan. For some reason Mississippi still considers these candidates and incumbents either R or D as if they are going to implement a republican or democrat highway construction model.

Anonymous said...

just to keep the true facts out there... Crisler no longer works for Hinds Community College... he left when he decided to run for this office

Anonymous said...

so he is unemployed? and hopefully not on OUR payroll after the election. wait, if he is not on one, he will probably be on the other...

dont leave the election up to Hinds county. look what we have to look forward to for 'sheruf'. talk about the race card

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
