Ed Peters Represented Robbie Bell

One previously unknown and highly relevant fact about the Heather Spencer case is that Ed Peters represented Robbie Bell when the investigation into the murder began. Detective Derrick Jordan states in his report:
"On 9-25-2007, I, Detective Derrick Jordan along with Sgt Eric Smith, Sgt. A. Cooper and Detective Sparkman meet with Attorney James, Kelly and Attorney Edward Peters in reference to this case. Mr. Kelly and Mr. Peters represent Ms. Robbie Bell. The purpose of this meeting was to obtain a statement from Robbie Bell in reference to the murder of Mary Heather Spencer..." Copy of statement

Ed Peters represented Robbie Bell. That fact alone should give everyone reason for concern. She was later represented by Bobby DeLaughter's current lawyer, Cynthia Speetjeens. Judge DeLaughter heard her arraignment when she was indicted for accessory after the fact and was scheduled to preside over her trial when he was suspended from the bench. The other two lawyers of the Ed Peters gang, Tom Royals and Tommy Mayfield, represented George Bell, III on his murder and kidnapping charges. The only thing missing from this reunion is Dale Danks serving up some drinks and Coppertone.

Keep in mind Ms. Bell came home at approximately 8:00 PM to a home awash in blood and a victim who lay dying, as pieces of her skull littered the floor. She was there all night long, making no attempt to call for the police or medical help for Ms. Spencer (who didn't die until 3:00 AM).

Ms. Bell made no attempt to contact the authorities even when she was alone for an hour. Ms. Bell faced serious charges when George was arrested based upon her conduct. The entry of Peters and the rest of his gang into this affair only makes Jim Hood's decision to drop the indictment against Ms. Bell even more suspicious, given his ties to Dickie Scruggs. The question that remains is whether hiding the role Robbie Bell played in the death of Heather Spencer was another example of Ed Peter's talent for helping his friends escape justice.

What a strange coincidence that all the old white Jacksonians with money know exactly which attorney's to seek out when they get themselves into serious trouble.

Anonymous said...

Well, those attorneys are finally getting weeded out and disbarred. Still way too many around in the good 'ole boy network though.

Robbie Bell needs to hide her face in shame and suffer some consequences for not only letting Heather die, but for allowing that animal son of hers to go out and kidnap the other girl, whom he could have done the same thing to! What is wrong with that woman?

I hope when Robbie Bell shuts her eyes all she sees is Heather Spencer laying there dying. She may not pay for not trying to help the poor girl now, but she will sooner or later.

All one has to do is spend some time in any courtroom in the state of MS and you can see it happen.

It's not just lawyers either. The whole system is a joke....unless you are one of the victims of the system..and then it is not funny.

Heather was victimized again after her death.

If it weren't for KF posting the information and bringing it to the public's attention, who would have?

1:05-Don't you think this happens all over the country and it has nothing to do with race. People of all colors with money know exactly whom to hire. And, let's not forget a lot of white people with money have gone to jail in the past few years.

As a sixth generation Mississippian, and someone who loves my State I'll never say never that one day there will be justice for all.

Amazing Kingfish. Not one word on Y'all about Ed Peters and your story. You'd think given his fixation on Hood and Peters, he would be trumpeting this story at the top of the page.

I bet Karen Irby is just glad as hell that the spotlight is off of her for just this one second. And probably glad to see that there is at least one person that everybody thinks is as big of a piece of S**t as her.

Thumbs Up Jambalaya! WLBT gave you credit for breaking this story!

I have to give a heartfelt kudos to Kingfish and Jackson Jambalya. You are the one keeping the lights on this case, forcing the rest of Jackson media to admit that THERE IS A STORY HERE. Keep it up -- you might be the only reason justice is served in this case!

Robbie Bell should be in prison with her sorry son. How could she sit on her rear and not help a dying person? She must be some weak person.

It ought to be interesting that Delaughter's "lying to FBI" plea might confirm some, any, all charges that implicate Mr. Peters...The Federal Government has time, patience, and a lot of cool stuff. And BTW, they don't like to lose.

Another example of the well-to-do or so called 'powerful' elite getting away with murder and it sickens me.

Let me get this straight, when Mississippi’s Attorney General Jim Hood intervened, his office not only accepted a plea for an incorrect cause of death but also dropped the charges against Robbie Bell, citing not enough evidence in the case to prosecute? Please read the 2008 press release on the AGO’s website quoting the cause of death incorrectly (in my opinion). As for the dismissal, the police reports clearly indicate very suspicious actions- not to mention witness accounts, phone calls, pro-active attorney/family involvement, etc.

In light of recent legal scandals and events, is the outcome of this case really a surprise to anyone? Hood’s name sure comes up a lot with regard to recent events in the legal community. How many of his campaign contributors are in jail? The Ed Peters/Jim Hood connection and the pending guilty plea of former judge Delaughter, certainly makes one wonder what really goes on behind the scenes.

Please remember, Jim Hood does not prosecute friends and family. Good luck Peters!

WHICH attorney (s) were present on behalf of Robbie Bell when Detective Chris Watkins attempted to obtain a statement/interview from Robbie Bell on 09-12-07 at 15:30 - Filed by JPD on
09-18-07?

Page 13 of the .PDF police report.

"Ms. Bell elected not to make a
statement without the presence of a lawyer. Ms. Bell's attorney was present at the time"

I may not have read closely enough but is Robbie Bell going to be prosecuted for anything?

Anonymous said...

She should be convicted of accessory to murder- She could have saved that poor girls life.

Anonymous said...

Hopefully Bell is hiding under a rock. That is the only place she needs to be other than in prison. There is no excuse for what she did. She is a dangerous person.

I hope none of her friends get on here and tell us how wonderful she is and what a fine, fine family the Bells are. I will throw up. She was doing nothing but trying to protect her sorry, good for nothing drug addict son, and she probably has done it all his life covering up for him, making excuses for him, and giving him money to just buy more dope. No damn wonder he turned out so sorry. She just sat on her butt and let a fine young woman die before her very eyes and did nothing about it. She should be locked in prison along with her horrible, horrible son. As far as I am concerned, Jim Hood is finished in politics in MS, too.

I read much of the reports attached and no where does it indicate that Robbie Bell was held against her will or was held under any direct threat from George III. The rumors that came out right after all this happened was that she had been blindfolded and kept locked in a room.

anybody know any of this???

Thank God we have Kingfish to not let things die like so many of Robbie's buddies wish they would! She doesn't even look guilty in that picture, more like she thinks she is a victim?!

Robbie Bell, if she actually returned to her home around 8 p.m. was there in her home or on the premises with Heather there...from 8 p.m. that night until around 10 a.m. the next morning.

Jr. arrived at the other girls house around 7:30 a.m. snorted some more coke and then went back to Mummy's house.

There is some time missing somewhere in between statements. Because, it was stated that the call from Robbie to James Bell happened shortly after their arrival back to Robbie's house.

According to James Bell's statement he received the call between 10 and 10:30, 10:30 actually being the time the policeman states he was flagged down.

Why did James Bell describe Heather as Jr's estranged girlfriend to police? Hadn't she tried to get the charges dropped/dismissed and wasn't she at Robbie Bell's home?

In his statement later he called her the girlfriend and not estranged. Hmmmm.

According to the Police Report Robbie rode to the station with Jr. and stayed with him without ever making a statement. She is read her Miranda Rights but is allowed to leave the station with her attorney. Thought you only got read those lines if you were being arrested?

Seems like Jr.'s initial pleading on both charges was not guilty.

9-20-07 Robbie is represented by Jim Kelly. Kelly was supposed to contact the Detective on 9-24 to set up a meeting with Robbie to meet with detectives.

On September 25, 2007, a meeting with attorney James Kelly and Attorney Edward Peters the same day that the crime scene report was received by the records dept. Still no statement.

Also interesting, the detective that escorted Robbie and Jr to the Homicide Div. didn't get the report filled out until 9-25-07, the same date the crime scene report was available and the meeting with Robbie Bell's two attorneys took place, one of which was Ed Peters.

Also of note, only one of the pistols were listed as evidence from the day of the crime. When/were did the other one come into it?

Also, Robbie Bell got a Circuit Court Order to get her guns back. Wasn't just a simple release to the owner.

Anonymous said...

I assume this sick woman enlisted another one of her lawyers to obtain the order to get the guns back. Good old Cindy Speetjens (the woman that sneered at the friends and family that attended George's sentencing hearing Robbie did not attend). Cindy who represented the former judge delaughter, also worked for peters for many years. How odd? I believe she was laughed at by the courts when she initially appeared of delaughters behalf (um, conflict of interest?) Don't forget, delaugher was going to hear Robbie's case. WLBT has some nice video footage of Bobby, Cindy, and Robbie

Anonymous said...

Can you tell me why Linda's case was dismissed? WLBT reported that it was was both and dismissed and settled? What the story KF?

Anonymous said...

It makes you wonder why Dale Danks, the late Frank Melton and of course Tom Royals were at the scene. I doubt they show up at every hostage crisis in Jackson. What time was the legal team retained? Monday night? Tuesday prior to the standoff?

But wait, the uncle that makes house call, was acting as their attorney at the time (read the reports). Conflict of interest? Is this where Attorney/Client privilege comes in to silence everything?

Anonymous said...

Do not think that Attorney Client privilege would attach unless all the communication was done outside the hearing of the roomate.

Anonymous said...

For the comment concerning Robbie Bell being blindfolded and locked in a closet.

Take a trip over to the WLBT website and watch the video clip of Robbie Bell the day of the standoff at the gas station and when she is on the phone.

Do you think her hair and makeup and her clothes look like a person that has spent the night in hell??

I don't know her, but nothing about her looks like anything traumatic happened to her. What do you think?

Anonymous said...

I looked at the videos over at WLBT and it is hard to draw conclusions from that. Regardless of whether she was under threat or not, I think at a minimum she should be compelled to state exactly her every move was that day and night and morning., Especially for the sake of Heather's family

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
